Our Origin

Founded in 2020 by Sir Antonio International, the Adopt A School Foundation (AASF) began as a visionary charity intervention aimed at fostering significant societal change through innovative behavioural initiatives.
We have achieved full registration as a non-governmental organisation, and our focus is on transformative educational, health, and environmental programs. We collaborate closely with community stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on students, young adults, and women. Through our work, we aim to unlock their potential and transform it into opportunities that have a profound and lasting impact.

Governance and Leadership

Members of the Board
The Adopt A School Foundation Board, comprising five members, provides oversight, approves strategy, and decides on fundraising, program oversight, financial & risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the Board supports the organization, ensuring compliance with legislation and charter, and appropriate management.

Executive Leadership

Adopt A School Foundation is led by CEO Antonio Braizeniv

Antonio, a Certified Professional Change Champion (CPCC), is a seasoned strategist, communicator, and speaker. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Change Leadership from University of Sussex and Bachelors in Development Studies from Makerere University. His leadership, partnership-building skills, and passion for Climate Action drive impactful initiatives in Environmental Protection and foster Adopt A School’s mission to nurture change agents and collaborate for shared outcomes.

Why Environmental Protection?

Today’s students are tomorrow’s guardians of the Earth. With escalating challenges such as extreme weather events, rising global temperatures, and biodiversity loss, it is crucial to equip them with the knowledge and tools to combat climate change. Through education and advocacy, we encourage collective action and innovative solutions to ensure a resilient and sustainable future.

Why Educational Support?

In many regions in sub-Saharan Africa, schools grapple with challenges like inadequate infrastructure, limited access to educational resources, and poor sanitation facilities. AASF addresses these issues by upgrading educational facilities, providing essential learning materials, and enhancing teacher training to improve educational outcomes and student well-being. Our initiatives also focus on crucial aspects of student life, such as nutrition, clean water, and sanitation programs, forming a comprehensive approach to education.

Why Health and Well-being?

Health issues ranging from HIV and STIs to mental health challenges and gender-based violence severely affect students’ ability to thrive in educational settings. Our programs support comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, mental health services, anti-bullying campaigns, and nutritional support, all aimed at creating a safe and conducive learning environment.

Our Impact

In 2022, amidst post-pandemic reconstruction, Adopt A School Foundation thrived. Partnering with Alternative Providers of Basic Education & Training (APBET) Schools, we empowered them with Organizational System Strengthening (OSS) skills, igniting community transformation and innovating Education Support solutions in informal settlements. Our evidence-based interventions evolve, fortified by strategic partnerships advancing environmental protection and addressing financial disparities in Learning Institutions.
